How an engagement runs
Every engagement follows the same discipline, whether it's a performance review or a multi-month build.
Measure
Every engagement starts from how the system actually behaves, not how it is supposed to. We collect traces, packet captures, logs and timestamps, and build a shared picture of where time and risk really sit.
Specify
Before building anything, we agree in writing what 'good' looks like: latency targets, throughput, failure modes and how each will be tested. It keeps everyone honest, including us.
Engineer
A small senior team works inside your codebase, tools and conventions. We prefer simple designs that your engineers can read, review and extend.
Prove
We test against the agreed specification with replay, soak and failover testing, and report results with the method behind them.
Hand over
We finish with documentation, runbooks and monitoring your team owns, so the system keeps working long after we step back.
What we hold to
Three rules that shape every decision we make on a client's system.
Correctness before speed
A fast system that is occasionally wrong is a liability. We design for deterministic behaviour first, then make it fast.
Measured, not asserted
We report what we measured, how we measured it and what we couldn't. No headline numbers without the method.
Built to be owned
You keep the code, the knowledge and the tooling. Our aim is a system your team can run without us.
Where AI fits
We use AI tooling to generate tests, analyse telemetry and logs, and speed up research. It makes the work more thorough. It does not replace engineering judgement, and every change is reviewed by an engineer who understands it.
Tell us about the system.
Describe what you're building or what's holding it back, and we'll get back to you.
